These Flaps are used when fitting Straight Sided tyres to a straight sided wheel rims with a 23" diameter. These items are also referred to as Bands by some people.

The one piece flap goes inside the tyre between the tyre and the inner tube, the purpose being to protect the inner tube from the spoke heads (in the case of wire wheels) or screw heads (in the case of wood wheels) when the tyre is inflated and in use. Or any screws that may be holding the rim to a wooden wheel. These are required when fitting our Blockley 33x5 and 32 x 4 1/2 tyres on to these 23" straight sided wheels.
